Hampshire’s architecture is not uniform. Brick-built townhouses, tile-hung elevations, flint walls, and timber-framed cottages all require different window treatments. In many cases, the defining details lie in subtle elements such as glazing bar thickness, frame depth, and the relationship between glass and timber.
Tailored Wood focuses on these details. Our joinery is designed with careful attention to:
- The proportion of glazing bars relative to pane size
- The depth and profile of frames within masonry openings
- The balance between opening sections and fixed elements
Where thermal performance needs to be improved, we integrate slim heritage double glazing, typically 10 to 14mm thick, into traditional solid-through glazing bar designs. This allows improved insulation while maintaining the fine detailing associated with period windows.
