Our Process

At Tailored Wood, we want to make the process of restoring or replacing your external joinery as simple and unintrusive as possible. To ensure this, our dedicated operations team follows a meticulous process that begins with a site visit to every enquiry.

Site Visit

This initial meeting allows us to consult with you to fully understand your requirements, and also to determine the scope of work required for each window or door, such that we can make recommendations accordingly.

Our Process

Survey & Approval

If it is something that you wish to go ahead with, we then return to your property to complete a survey of the items, which is then complied into a comprehensive job bag.

A copy of the job bag is sent out for approval before we send it through to the workshop to begin the manufacturing process. This step ensures we are aligned with your expectations and offers a final opportunity to make any changes.

Our Process

Manufacturing & Finishing

Once the items have been manufactured, they move across to our finishing workshop where they are spray finished in a colour of your choice, and glazed according to the specification.

Once it has been signed off by the finishing department, we will contact you to arrange a suitable installation date. The job bag is issued to the installation team and doubles as a detailed guide, specifying the location, level of works, and any special requirements for your job. This meticulous approach ensures that our teams are well-informed and equipped to deliver results that meet our exacting standards.

Installation

Our assigned installation team will introduce themselves on the first day and see your job through from beginning to end.

Our operations team remains actively engaged throughout the process, communicating with the installation team on a regular basis to ensure things are progressing as planned.

Management & Aftercare

The operations team is readily available to address any enquiries throughout the process, swiftly responding to calls and emails.

At the conclusion of the project, we will communicate with you to ensure you are happy and arrange for anything outstanding or any snags to be completed promptly. At Tailored Wood, our operations team is dedicated to the success of every project, from the initial site survey to the final quality check, consistently delivering excellence in both service and craftsmanship.

We are absolutely delighted with our new hardwood sash windows! They are so beautiful and we are so pleased to have been able to retain as much of the original wood as possible.
