This initial meeting allows us to consult with you to fully understand your requirements, and also to determine the scope of work required for each window or door, such that we can make recommendations accordingly.
How We Work
Site Visit
Survey & Approval
A copy of the job bag is sent out for approval before we send it through to the workshop to begin the manufacturing process. This step ensures we are aligned with your expectations and offers a final opportunity to make any changes.
Manufacturing & Finishing
Once it has been signed off by the finishing department, we will contact you to arrange a suitable installation date. The job bag is issued to the installation team and doubles as a detailed guide, specifying the location, level of works, and any special requirements for your job. This meticulous approach ensures that our teams are well-informed and equipped to deliver results that meet our exacting standards.
Installation
Our operations team remains actively engaged throughout the process, communicating with the installation team on a regular basis to ensure things are progressing as planned.
Management & Aftercare
At the conclusion of the project, we will communicate with you to ensure you are happy and arrange for anything outstanding or any snags to be completed promptly. At Tailored Wood, our operations team is dedicated to the success of every project, from the initial site survey to the final quality check, consistently delivering excellence in both service and craftsmanship.
What People Say…
After meeting with Joel, his personable approach, and excellent advice and ideas, were our reasons for choosing Joel and his team to make and fit our windows. The windows have transformed the front of our house. The craftsmanship is excellent and the attention to detail regarding decorating and finish is second to none. The after-service was excellent.
We’re now getting Joel and his team back to install a skylight. Thank you to Tailored Wood. Highly recommended.

Roof light double glazed unit replacement
I cannot recommend Tailored Wood highly enough. Really good local business with highly motivated staff. Not only superb craftsmen but also keen to renovate rather than replace where ever possible. Always on time, kept mess to a minimum and fantastic after sale service on any snags. If you are considering any door or window projects I would always include these guys in your round of quotes.

Sash Windows Restoration & Replacement | St Cross, Winchester
We are absolutely delighted with our new hardwood sash windows! They are so beautiful and we are so pleased to have been able to retain as much of the original wood as possible. They look exactly like the originals and it is almost impossible to see they are double-glazed. We are so glad we did not go for the more expensive PVC wood imitations. Excellent skilful fitter too.

Sash Windows Restoration & Replacement | St Cross, Winchester
We are delighted with our new hand made door from Tailored Wood. From start to finish our experience was of a first class service in terms of both the door quality and customer care. A lovely bunch of guys who cared about everything they did despite having to accommodate our electrical supply changes needed to enable a new frame to be installed. We can highly recommend Tailored Wood as a differentiated independent company offering exceptional quality and customer care.

Door Set | Littleton, Winchester
We had replacement sash windows made for an Edwardian property and Joel and the team did a great job. The advice they gave initially was spot on and Joel knew the local period style. There was no pushy salesperson. I went and had a look in the workshop and was shown finished windows and the process of making them was explained. The windows were installed on time by a professional team, who were a pleasure to work with. Our builders even commented on the quality of the work. The windows look excellent and we have had a lot of positive feedback. Well worth the money.
